Angel Wong, SEAS '13, is majoring in Operations Research: Engineering Management Systems and minoring in Economics and Computer Science. She has been on Asian American Alliance for two years -- first as an organizational committee member in her freshman year, then as the vice-chair of CC/SEAS/GS in the fall semester of sophomore year, and currently as co-chair with Yalan Wu in the spring semester of sophomore year. Angel's motivations for joining (and staying in) AAA are because she feels a persistant struggle in dealing with the overshadowing blanket of the model minority myth, the engulfing threat of apathy in community organizing, and a desire to coalition build with other identity groups that may feel like their voice is not being heard outside of their community.

As a long-time resident of New York City, Angel has been constantly surrounded by the Asian American community, particularly at her predominantly Asian American-dominated alma mater, Stuyvesant High School, so she loves to hear about the experiences of Asian Americans with different upbringings. She enjoys meeting new characters, travelling to foreign locations, and generally being shocked by new experiences (and cuisines!) In addition to Asian American Alliance, Angel is on the Morocco team of Engineers Without Borders and the planning committee of this year's EWB Northeast Regional Workshop.
