Belle is in the class of 2012 at Columbia College. A city girl from San Francisco whose alma mater is Lowell High, she is always willing to talk to you about her hometown and its public education system. She will be a political science and Asian-American Studies double major, and is a pre-law student hoping to focus on juvenile and education law. She puts most of her energy into empowering Asian-American youth in politics and public policy, especially regarding enfranchisement, and further educating Asian-American youth about the Asian-American movement, but is passionate about many more APIA issues.
On campus, Belle is the secretary of Asian-American Alliance. At home, Belle has worked with other Asian-Americans to beautify San Francisco Chinatown, its alleyways and parks and taught mainly Asian-American middle school students math and science at Aim High, a summer program she is an alumna of, the last four years. During Summer 2009, Belle interned for a juvenile court judge and taught at Aim High again. In 2007, the Mayor of San Francisco appointed Belle to the San Francisco Youth Commission. As a public servant, she was the co-chair of the Education Policy committee, where she helped implement mandatory voters' education and YouthVOTE for high school students, and fought for free public transportation for middle and high school students. She was also a four-year attorney on Lowell's mock trial team and was the captain for junior and senior year.
Belle has watched every episode of Grey's Anatomy and refuses to fail to kick your butt in GA trivia - bring it!
