Yalan Wu

Residing in the forgotten borough of New York City, Yalan Wu is Class 2013 in Barnard College who intends to major in Computer Science. As an organizational committee member on AAA, she hopes to foster connections between student organizations on the Columbia University Campus. Yalan is engrossed at the issues of Asian Stereotypes and the lack of Asian American representation in general media and United States history.
At Curtis High School, on Staten Island, Yalan served as president of Key Club, a non-profit community service organization, and Asian American Club. She was an IB Diploma Recipient and a member of the National Honor Society. She also participated in the Asian American Student Advocacy Project, where she along with 15 other New York City High School students expressed their opinions on the improvement of how mental health resources in New York City high schools to City Council Members. In her spare time, Yalan enjoys learning new languages and eating crème puffs.
